THE GUADIANA HYDROGRAPHIC CONFEDERATION IS CONTINUING ITS FIGHT AGAINST INVASIVE ALIEN SPECIES.

The mobile application “Invasoras del Guadiana” has been renewed, with important improvements to make it easier for citizens to use it.  The application is available for Android and iOS systems.

Among the most important new features, it should be noted that the application incorporates a warning system that allows the user to take a photo that will serve as a geolocation point for the work teams of the Hydrographic Confederation to move and act immediately in the area.

In addition to this warning system, the application includes a news section on the work carried out by the Hydrographic Confederation along the Guadiana and an entry to the messages broadcast on twitter in order to be able to follow the current affairs of the institution. The application is completed with a Directory that includes an extensive list of exotic species with images to recognize them, as well as adding extensive information that includes description, ecology, distribution, entry and expansion routes, impact and importance of this impact.

Four years ago, the Basin Authority put this application at the service of all to continue the fight against invasive alien species. Hikers, botany lovers, cyclists… and in general any registered citizen who knows and likes nature can, with this application, notify the Guadiana River Basin Authority if they detect the presence of any invasive species in the river or its surroundings.
